Water - Kosher?
Question
Does water have to be kosher if so what brands of water are kosher?
Answer
ALL water is kosher for drinking purposes. The reason why bottled water may carry a "hechsher" (Kashrut Rabbinic Supervision) relates to the bottle itself, the plant (including machinery), and workers not bringing in other foods into the food processing areas. However, one may, nevertheless, drink bottled water internationally without such a "hechsher", as the Halachic concerns here are negligible.
