Shower on Shabbat
Question
Why are we forbidden to take a shower or bath on Shabbat?
Answer
Various types of baths and showers are not allowed as an out growth of "Gezeirat Merchatz" the ban on public baths where the proprieters were suspected of heating water on Shabbat. One should learn these halachot carefully to know what kind of washing up is allowed.
