Question
The prohibition against eating milk with meat stems from the biblical admonition against "seething the kid in the milk of the mother" . Since chickens do not give milk why is the consumption of their flesh similarly prohibited?
Answer
Chicken and meat is a rabbinic prohibition because chicken may easily be confused with meat.
