Question
If a polytheist has saved Jewish life, can they be allowed to live in Israel, if they wish, without renouncing their faith?
Answer
There is a general question whether a polytheist is considered an idolater in Jewish law (the concept is known a "Shituf", a combination of recognition of G-d and idols). If it is not idolatry, tham the prohibition of allowing idolaters to live in Israel would not apply. If it is, saving a Jewish life, as praiseworthy as that may be, would not mitigate the prohibition.
