Question
Is a Cohen allowed to get Shevi’i or does he have to get Acharon i.e. an eighth Aliya?
Answer
The Shulchan Aruch OC 135; 10, holds that after calling a Cohen, Levi and Yisrael, another Cohen can be called.
The Rema ibid brings the Ashkenazi custom to allow an additional Cohen only from eighth Aliya and onwards.
