Shabbat and club
Question
I live in an area that is not very Jewish. There is no eruv around my city. Recently I started a Young Democrats Club at my school. The local leader of the Democratic Party (who is not Jewish) wants me to help organize a Young Democrats club at other schools. The Democratic Party may ask these other students (who are not Jewish) to help with the party on the Sabbath. Am I allowed to help organize the other clubs?
Answer
If you don't work in any way on Shabbat and they don't do any work on your behalf on Shabbat it is not an Halachic problem, yet one should be very careful entering any thing that might lead later on in time to situations that will conflict your Shabbat with these activities.
