Chess Clock on Shabbat
Question
May a wind-up mechanical chess clock be used on Shabbat if it is fully wound up before Shabbat?
Answer
There is a prohibition to measure on Shabbat if not for Mitzvah purposes. Therefore this chess watch is Muktze as it is used for measuring play time and should not be used on Shabbat.
