Question
What became of the original Torah given to Moshe at Har Sinai?
Answer
According to the Midrash, King Yoshiyahu had the holy ark hidden under the Temple many years before the destruction, to prevent it falling into captivity. Presumably the original sefer Torah was hidden with it if it was still intact.
