Question
The Talmud has nothing to say about it. Josephus has nothing to say about it. The earliest commentary I know of, Megillas Taanis, says nothing about one day’s oil lasting for 8.
Where is there any historical support that this miracle occured?

The Talmud (Shabbat 21b) specifically refers to the miracle of the oil.
