Question
I am confused regarding Israel’s Kosher certification of meat. I hear in America that since I eat only Glatt Kosher meat, when I move to Israel I can only eat Mehadrin and not stam Rabbanut. Is stam Rabbanut, then, non Glatt meat?
Answer
If you eat only glatt meat you should make sure it is mentioned specificly on the product. If it isn't mentioned, it probably isn't glatt.
The rabbanut has two kinds of certifications: Glatt-mehadrin hechsher or a regular hechsher.
