Question
Where exactly (inside/ outside, left side, right side) do we put the mezuzah on our sliding door leading out to our garden?
Answer
If there is no entrance to the house from the street through the garden, in other words if it is a closed garden which can be accessed only through the house, the mezuzah (according to most poskim) should be on the right of the exit to the garden (Chovat Hadar 8, 1, 3).
If the garden is open to the street, the mezuzah should be on the right of the entrance to the house (Chovat Hadar 8, 1, 4).
