Question
Why do we say "lehaniah Tefillin"and not Likshor TEFILLIN?
Answer
This is a good question asked by the Maharit (R Yosaf Terani, 1568 Tzfat – 1639 Turkey) in his Responsa OC 7; The answer he brings is firstly because that is the way our sages have established the blessing, more so the word "Ukshartam" in the Torah dose not refer to the tying of the Tefilin on the hand rather to the knot on the Tefilin themselves and the act of mitzvah we do is the placement of the Tefilin on our arm – and that is the Bracha.
