Question
Must one have meat meals on Shabbat (and Chag) I have seen many people in E"Y have nice dairy meals for Shabbat meals. Is this Minhag Okay?
Answer
On Shabbat one should honor the Shabbat with whatever gives him pleasure. If one prefers making only one meaty meal, it's best to have it in the morning. On Yom Tov there is no obligation of eating meat, since Beit Hamikdash is in ruins and happiness with meat is like a Korban. Though, the Rambam writes one should eat meat, so whoever likes meat should have that as a preference. Rabbi Avraham Perl
